กรมพัฒนาพลังงานทดแทนและอนุรักษ์พลังงาน (พพ.) มีภารกิจในการรวบรวม จัดทำ วิเคราะห์และเผยแพร่ข้อมูลพลังงานในเชิงภาพรวมของประเทศ จึงได้จัดทำรายงานดุลยภาพพลังงานของประเทศไทย ปี 2565 (Energy Balance of Thailand 2022) ตามรอบปฏิทิน เพื่อเผยแพร่สถิติข้อมูลพลังงานที่สำคัญให้กับผู้สนใจข้อมูลพลังงาน ทั้งหน่วยงานภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน นักวิเคราะห์ นักวิจัย และประชาชนที่ติดตามสถานการณ์พลังงานและใช้ประโยชน์ข้อมูลภาพรวม ประกอบด้วยการจัดหาพลังงานขั้นต้น การแปรรูปพลังงาน และการใช้พลังงานขั้นสุดท้ายที่จำแนกเป็นรายเชื้อเพลิง และสาขาเศรษฐกิจตามบัญชีพลังงานและสมดุลพลังงาน
